Roy and Gerry Blasingim

After enlisting in the Army, in January 1958, I was sent to Ft. Carson, CO for basic training, then to Ft. Bragg, NC, for Airborne Training. Upon completion of my Airborne training, I was sent to Mainz, Germany, and remained there for about 30 months. While in Europe, I made parachute jumps in France, German (Black Forrest), and Spain. In 1961, I returned to the States, and because I was single and had top-secret clearance, was sent to Tampa, Florida to continue my military service at Strike Command. It is now called CENTCOM. They report directly to the Joint Chiefs of Staff, in the Pentagon.
Later, I attended the University of Houston, earning a degree in Business Administration/Procurement. I worked for Brown & Root for two years as a buyer for Fossil Fuel, and then as department supervisor. After that, I got a job with an engineering firm as Manager of Purchasing. Several years later, I accepted an offer from Arabian American Oil Company, now Saudi Aramco, and moved to Saudi Arabia, in August of 1980 and remained with them until early retirement in 1990.
While working in Saudi Arabia, I became close friends with the owners of several large Saudi Companies. Upon retirement, one of the company owners offered me a job in their London or Houston offices. I went to work for Saudi Arabian Overseas Company as Director of International Sales, in Houston and remained with them for five years. Another opportunity came along that enabled me to start my own company that would support another Saudi Company worldwide. So I established my new company, RB International, in Houston, Texas in 1995. I closed the business, on July 31, 2019, shortly before COVID for full-time retirement.
God has blessed me, not only in my career, but He blessed me with three amazing children, eight grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren. He also blessed me with my wonderful wife, Gerry, who passed away on, April 5, 2024.
