Barbara Munsch
Information provided by Barbara’s sister:
Barbara was the daughter of Edward and Jane Munsch. She was born in Seadrift, Texas. Barbara was raised in Port O’Connor with her siblings, Clarence (Bubba) Munsch and Judy Nunley O’Briant, pictured above.
After graduation from High School Barbara worked at Jamison’s theater, then moved to Santa Barbara, California, where she lived for a year. After returning back to Texas she moved to Port Aransas where she worked at The Island Pharmacy for twenty-five years. She bought a condominium there, and made many friends. She was a member of the Alter Society and The Ladies Fireman’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bingo and also enjoyed helping with the local fishing tournament.
Barbara returned to Port O’Connor in 1992 to care for her aging parents. She worked at Alvin’s Food Store. She was a very caring person who enjoyed her family and friends. She was always willing to help anyone with anything they needed. She enjoyed taking trips to the family Hill Country home.
Barbara loved people and was loved by many. She was a joy to be around. She fought a long battle with breast and liver cancer. Barbara passed this life peacefully in her home in Port O’Connor on March 29, 2001.
