Ethel (Kelly) Jecker

Ethel Kelly Jecker, age 85, of Port Lavaca, passed away on February 3, 2025. She was born June 6, 1939, in Harriston, Mississippi into the loving arms of her parents, Frank Kelly, Sr. and Elizabeth (Betty) Kelly.
She was always thankful to God for her parents and siblings and their strong family bond.
Ethel graduated from Calhoun High School and went on to become a registered nurse and obtain a degree in elementary education. As an RN she was employed as Director of Nursing at the Calhoun County Health Department for over 27 years. She was always thinking of others and wanted to help in any way she could. She had a generous and loving spirit and was always there when needed. She loved her dogs and her plants and watching the birds, especially the hummers. Her passing takes a piece of our hearts, but her wit, courage and words of wisdom will remain always.

Ethel’s favorite memories from high school are band trips and loading the tops of the hats with lemons, salt, etc.
