Wilbert and Jane (Elder) Treybig

Jane Treybig, 79, of Victoria, Texas, joined the angels in heaven on December 1, 2018. Jane was born in Victoria to Peter Francis Elder and Reubie Beatrice Elder on July 19, 1939. Jane graduated from Calhoun High School in 1957. She attended Victoria Junior College where she was a member of the Saberettes Drill Team and was elected a Pirate Belle for 2 years in a row. After attending Victoria Junior College, Jane went on to Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas where she graduated with a B.S. in Elementary Education. Upon graduation, she taught 4th grade in Odem, Texas for 17 years. Upon returning to Calhoun County, Jane completed her teaching career as a 3rd-grade teacher. She retired with 33 years in the field of Education. During her teaching career, she had 11 student teachers trained under her supervision. Jane was a member of the Odem local TSTA. Upon returning to Port Lavaca, she was a member of the Port Lavaca Junior Service League, Calhoun County local TCTA, and was a life member of Beta Sigma Phi. Upon moving to Victoria, Jane became an active member of the New Victorians, serving on several different committees. Jane met Wilbert Treybig, her husband of 56 years, in the 4th grade. They married on June 16, 1962, in Port Lavaca, Texas. Jane is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Wilbert Treybig; daughter, Rhonda Treybig; son, Wade Treybig; daughter-in-law, Kristy Treybig, and granddaughter, Amber Treybig.
