67th Class Reunion
Our 67th class reunion has come and gone. As always, it was a big success. Seventeen classmates and guests attended, for a total of twenty-eight.
Those in town on Friday evening met for dinner at La Antigua. There were only twelve of us, but we had a good time visiting.
The local classmates, Mary Lou, Mary Jane, Jerry, and Bobby Joe, did a great job making our reunion a success, with the location, signs, drinks, ice, beautiful decorations, and more. The reunion was held at the Bauer Exhibit Building at the fairgrounds, giving us plenty of room to move around and visit. The delicious meal was catered by Cathy's of Port O'Connor. We feasted on fish, shrimp, hushpuppies, slaw, au gratin potatoes, and all the trimmings. To top it all off, classmates brought the most delicious desserts ever. Alma and Buck's daughter, Diana, did a fantastic job with the food table again this year. Mary Lou's son-in-law furnished a speaker and microphone, which was very helpful so that we could all hear the speakers.
Morris was unable to attend this year, but he had sent a wonderful email that Bobby Joe read at the reunion. It was full of memories and reminded us all of how blessed we all were to have lived in a small Texas town in the fifties and to have had the privilege of graduating with the best class to ever come out of Calhoun High School. You can read it HERE. Thank you, Morris, for the walk down Memory Lane.
We missed those who could not attend, but hope you will stay in touch.
