66th Class Reunion
If you missed the 66th class reunion on October 7, 2023, you missed a good time. Eighteen class members attended along with guests for a total of thirty-three.
A BIG thank you to Mary Jane, Bobby Joe, Jerry, and Mary Lou for all the work they put into making the reunion a success. Thank you to Sharon for contacting everyone and keeping up with those planning to attend. Also, a very special thank you to Buck and Alma’s daughter, Diana, for being in charge of the food and drink tables. She did a great job!
On Friday evening there were seventeen who met at the Wagon Train for a meal and fellowship. It was good to have Jimmy Causey join us that evening, but we were disappointed that he couldn’t attend the reunion on Saturday.
The reunion was held at the Holiday Inn at 11:00 on Saturday morning. A wonderful seafood meal was catered, and delicious desserts were prepared by local classmates. Needless to say, the fellowship was the highlight of the day though.
It was so good to have Roy Blasingim attend this year and to be able to catch up and reminisce with him about school days!
Those who responded that they couldn't attend were:
1. Judy Vela Williams - was planning to attend but Gene Sr. was sick
2. Victor Holy - hesitated to make reservations hoping that a medical issue his wife, Jerry, had been experiencing would clear up. That did not happen. He wishes all best regards and thanks the team who put the reunion together.
3. Ed Regan - hopes we had a great reunion but was still running fever through the week-end. He plans to be at the next reunion & is keeping a day free for next year.
4. Neill Carlton - said he could not attend because this is his busy season (Note from the class: maybe he should stop working and go visit old friends??)
5. Jimmy Causey - attended Friday night dinner but could not stay for Saturday. His wife has been sick for several years.
6. Dolores Lane Turk - had planned to attend but has been very sick recently.
7. Micky Harris - We did not get a response after leaving a message with his daughter.
8. Kenneth Henderson - was in a car wreck and was still in rehab.
We missed them, as well as all of you who were not there. Please stay in touch. We care!
